Judy A. Patton
1996 to Present. Township Fiscal Officer is an elected official and is independent of the township trustees, yet works closely with
the trustees who have the legislative authority in the township. The fiscal officer must keep an accurate record of all township accounts and transactions, to establish
and practice rules for efficient management of the fiscal officer's office and to follow good accounting practices in maintaining records and accounts.
The Ohio Revised Code states the required duties of the fiscal officer including but not limited to the following: 1.) shall keep an accurate record of the proceedings
of the board of township trustees at all of its meetings; 2.) issuing all checks; 3.) preparing payroll; 4.) reviewing revenue as it is distributed to the township.
Jackson Township uses the Uniform Accounting Network (UAN) computer system, which was developed by the Auditor of the State, and designed to automate many of the accounting
responsibilities for the office.
